Wear Informal Wedding Dresses And Be A Star Bride

Traditional wedding dresses are completely different to informal wedding dresses. Many more women are opting to dress in a more informal manner when they get married as marriage venues become less traditional. The beauty of wearing an informal wedding dress is that it makes the bride the star of the show and not the dress. It is after all the only day (unless you have been married a few times) that you get to shine.

One of the biggest faux pas any bride can make is overdressing on their wedding day. Unfortunately this does happen, but it can be avoided if you choose a more informal dress. The more informal the dress, the more attention the beautiful bride will receive.

Weddings today have a tendency to be themed and medieval, gypsy and beach weddings are more popular than ever. Getting married on the beach continues to grow in popularity and it would certainly not be practical to wear a formal wedding gown on the beach. Getting married in a special swim suit covered by a caftan or sarong, means you will be prepared for your beach wedding reception, no mess and no fuss. Guest will also appreciate the fact that they can dress informally and this kind of relaxed atmosphere takes the stuffiness out of getting married.

The great outdoors are becoming more popular as venues in which to get married. When you are married out of doors, the simpler the dress the better. Your dress should be appropriate for the outdoors, tight fitting clothing is not appropriate; neither are layers of satin, lace or tulle. Falling on your fanny on your wedding day is not an option.

A wedding gown for the outdoors should never be longer than your ankles. A train should also not be attached to the dress as it will get in the way, it can become soiled or even torn and this is an upsetting thing to happen to your wedding dress.

The beauty of an informal wedding dress is that it can be made by the bride herself or even a relative or friend. It is very unlikely that a dress designer is required for this type of gown. They can be made in a variety of styles and out of a variety of fabrics and often become heirlooms.
