Vera Wang was the assistant and then the fashion director at Vogue for many years. After which she joined the team at Ralph Lauren, where she designed accessories. Once she was married however she decided to go out on her own and with financial help from her father she launched her own bridal wear label.

After the launch of her label, she soon made huge waves in the bridal fashion industry. This was because she did not stick to dress design only. She took the whole concept one step further and incorporated shoes and every other bridal accessory, which took the world by storm. After a very short while, word got around and Vera was asked by Hollywood celebrities to design evening wear for them.

Many of the very biggest names in Hollywood have asked Vera to design both evening and bridal wear for them. To name but a few, Whoopi Goldberg, Charlize Theron, Holly Hunter and Meg Ryan! Her signature perfume was launched in 2002 and if you get married in a Vera Wang wedding dress, wearing Vera Wang shoes you get the best of everything.
