Winter Wedding Ideas That Everyone Will Love

You have made the decision to get married during the winter months and want everything to be perfect. You and your future spouse have set the date and found the perfect dress, but still haven’t had any good winter wedding ideas.

The theme of your wedding is everything. You can have the most beautiful dress and the finest food that money can buy, but without a good theme your wedding will not be memorable.

Don’t feel overwhelmed when it comes to finding the right theme. You can easily use the magic of winter time as your guide and throw in some winter wedding favors to impress all of your guests.

Choosing a theme

Finding the right wintertime theme is not as hard as you may think. You want something to make everyone take notice, but at the same time you need to love it too. There are several different themes that are popular with winter weddings.

  1. Holiday magic: One of the best parts about winter weddings is the fact that it is around the holidays. You can easily work your wedding around a Christmas theme. You could even have a cake that looked like wrapped presents with the bride and groom on top standing around a tree. Your favors could all be Christmas themed as well. The colors for your wedding could be in anything you wanted. It would be lovely to have a Christmas tree that is fully decorated at your reception and the evening could end with the happy couple leaving in a horse drawn sleigh.
  2. The first snowfall: It would be lovely to theme your entire wedding around the first snowfall. You can model your decor after snowfall and snowflakes and use glitter to make the room sparkle just like a fresh snowfall. It will be spectacular no matter how you choose to do it.
  3. Valentine’s Day: There is no way you could forget this day of love, and it serves as the perfect setting for your amazing love themed wedding. There are many people who choose to use this idea and with all of the hearts it just seems to fit.

Explore other options

For couples who would like to have a less than traditional winter wedding, a theme that is less than ordinary would be best. Having a ski resort wedding would be great with hot chocolate instead of punch and a ski chalet themed reception. The favors could all be themed with skis and snow and the guests could all wear ski clothes.

A few other cute ideas would be the winter Olympics, Ice skating, or even hockey. The possibilities are endless when it comes to alternate themes. By using your imagination you can easily create a theme that is unique to your wedding.

A winter wedding idea can be anything you can think of that has to do with the season. You can be as creative as you wish and can easily find winter wedding favors at any party supply store.

Fall Wedding Centerpieces – Top Ideas

Choosing to have a fall wedding is very popular nowadays. Brides and grooms enjoy having all the different fall colors as part of their wedding theme. There are plenty of ideas that you can use for your wedding if it is being held in the fall, and one of the main things you need to consider are fall wedding centerpieces.

The centerpieces of the reception tables are very important as they are the first things that people see when they enter and give the whole room a specific ambiance. Choosing from the various fall wedding centerpieces can be quite a challenge as there are so many different ideas. Here are just a few:

Colors of the Fall

The fall colors are stunning with gold, red, orange, yellow, and bronzes all coming into play. When you create the centerpieces you can use all of these colors in the flowers, ribbon and other decor. You can even make your fall wedding favors part of your centerpieces. For example you could decorate with incense sticks all the way around it, or use candles. Be creative with your centerpieces. Spray leaves and twigs in gold and arrange along with red and orange flowers.

Hanging Arrangements

A great idea for a fall wedding is to use nuts and fruits and create a hanging basket along with flowers which will hang from the ceiling above each table. This is perfect because guests are all able to talk to each other without a huge centerpiece in the way. You can create the centerpieces from wicker baskets which can also be sprayed in gold. You can even dangle some fairy lights from them.

Tall Centerpieces

If you want something more modern and simple, then you could go for tall centerpieces. These will be narrow so they take up little space on the table. You could use long twigs or twisted sticks sprayed in whichever colors you like, and place them into a long glass vase. Place this onto a mirror tile and stand a candle on it next to the vase. On the other side you can place a large flower head or perhaps and small bunch lying loosely. You might also choose to use three candles which can be bound together with twine.

Autumn Leaves

The most obvious theme for a fall wedding is to use leaves. While this may sound boring, there are many ways it can be spectacular. For a centerpiece idea you can take a pile of fall leaves and spray them all different golds, bronzes and coppers. Make sure that they are quite firm using some hair spray over it and drop them all into a fat glass vase. On top place a collection of your favorite flowers just using the heads. For a more romantic feel you can use long hanging plants that will drape over the sides of the vase.

These are just some of the great ideas that you can use when you are planning a fall wedding, and you can probably think of a lot more. Use different fall aspects and think about your favorite parts of the fall season. You can incorporate anything into your centerpieces for a stunning wedding.

Most of all have fun planning your fall wedding and remember that nothing is a bad idea as long as you love it.

What Are The Hot Wedding Dress Trends For 2010?

You’ve finally accepted one of many wedding proposals directed your way and you’re planning for the big day sometime in 2010. The big question for most brides-to-be is what the styles of wedding dresses will be in the near future. Well, what you need to know about 2010 wedding dress trends is easily obtainable, if you take a few minutes to do a bit of research.

Whether sleek and with a very low hemline in the traditional manner, or cut short and with an ultra-modern look, there are a number of different styles making their way through the couture lines of all the top designers today. The below are a few things you need to know when it comes to upcoming styles:

  • The traditional look will always have a place, no matter the year or the wedding theme. This sort of dress is a little billowy, and the fabrics used are rich and luxurious. They’re also always white in color, and appropriate for just about any time of the year or style of wedding.
  • Wedding dress trends these days are highly flexible and diverse. If you choose, you can go for the most currently popular style, which is a sleek silhouette, and perfect for a person of slim build and dimensions. These dresses are what are called “figure hugging,” so make sure the body matches the dress. Top designers in this style are Justin Alexander and Maggie Sottero.
  • If you’re up for a little Hollywood-type glamour and style, then 50s-style wedding gowns are for you. These dresses are usually adorned in a belted waistline, with most having hemlines that reach all the way to the floor, though a number of them have hems that go only to the knees, with a sheer overlayer that accentuates the hem and the legs underneath them. A few top designers of this style are Stephanie Allin and Suzanne Ermann.
  • Tea-length wedding dresses are ideal for the wedding that’s a bit less traditional and a bit more modern in character. They have hems that fall just below the knees, for the most part, and work well when you want to show off your legs and an expensive pair of shoes, perhaps. They also have bodices that work well to highlight your available assets while also being more than demure and appropriate for a wedding. Top-shelf designers of these sorts of dresses are Leigh Hetherington and Allan Hanna.
  • Another noticeable trend in wedding dress design for 2010 has been the use of asymmetrical-looking dresses, which have a single shoulder in place of the strapless gown. Top designers and fashion mavens say these sorts of dresses are great for what are called “destination weddings.” It tends to show off the neck and shoulders, so take some time to tone those areas up.

The range and depth of wedding dress styles today has never been greater or more fashionable. Everything from traditional (right down to an elaborate headdress and tiara) to tea-length “non-traditional” styles are accepted and in many cases eagerly sought after. Take some time to look at what you’d like to be wed in, and then go for it.

Planning Out Your Wedding Program

Couples tend to put a great deal of time into planning out their wedding program. The wedding program outlines all the details and events which will take part during the day and in what order. It should also tell which guests people should expect amongst other things. Making sure that your guests know what to expect from the festivities is important to avoid any unexpected surprises. Your wedding program should thus be interesting and informative, not to mention superbly presented.

For starters, you should place plenty of trust in your imagination, since this is set to be your dream day and one of the most important of your life. Whatever type of wedding you are going for, you should make sure that your planning is well thought out and consistent. Make sure you don’t miss anything. Make a brainstorm, write notes, draw pictures to give you some ideas if you are lacking inspiration.

A wedding program will generally include a number of things other than just the sequence of events. You may also want to write down the names of the songs which you have chosen for the service. The program may also contain the chosen menu for the reception. The program gives you a chance to share some of the meanings behind the decorations and other things which you have chosen for your wedding.

Some couples include poems in their programs or something else that might be interesting and meaningful to the guests. Choose something that is appropriate to your unique situation. It is also a place to express your thanks to guests who are attending.

Make sure you take plenty of care to structure the program well, since you certainly do not be wanting to lead your guests astray because they were not familiar with the schedule. Don’t forget that the wedding program has a number of practical purposes as well.

What To Consider First On Your Wedding Plan

Weddings are a battlefield you must be prepared to encounter. You need to make a strategy to help you approach your wedding plan with every possible event covered. We made a short list of the four things you should consider when planning your wedding.

Strategy: With stars in our eyes, we often forget there is a groom involved. Sit with him and make a program of how the wedding day should develop. Start with what you will wear and don’t argue every 5 minutes. Make sure you know how he feels about most of the events; that way you won’t have to choose everything blindly when he is late for the cake tasting: at least you know he doesn’t want a chocolate cake.

Finances: Pick a number and stick to it before you even start looking at dresses or calling your friends. Make sure that number is real and won’t affect your finances in the long run. Your wedding day will be beautiful no matter what the price tag is.

Close the list: Make a guest list and finalize it before going into anything else. Now that you have a budget, consider the worth of things: inviting the office receptionist you never talk to or upgrading center pieces. Remember to call your parents and in laws to make sure you include their guests in this list. Save a small table to prevent any unexpected and inconvenient incidents.

Where and When: Choose your date and venue according to your budget and schedule. If you can wait a couple of days or even months to get that special place at a better price, consider it. Try to remain as flexible as possible so you can make the most of this beautiful day.

Start this new stage in your life calm, relaxed and happy. Planning is everything when it comes to a prefect wedding! And the groom of course…

Black Wedding Dresses Make For A Unique Change

Every year bridal trends change and these trends come out in time of the spring/summer season which is traditionally recognized as the bridal season. This year things have fallen out of the more traditional approach to weddings and even black wedding dresses have become popular. This is a unique trend and if you want to wear black to get married then you will be in keeping with one of the hottest trends.

While black wedding dresses may never be as popular as the white version, they still may an option for anyone getting married to do so in a one-of-a kind dress. If black is your favorite color and you can see yourself being married in it, why not? Wedding dress designers will be more than happy to help you find something you love, and you will more than likely be able to alter it so it can be worn again.

In the year 2007 black wedding dresses were popular and the trend is back more than ever. The European fashion houses have shown this to be true, it is being used in bridal decor as an accent color for bouquets and table linen. Too much black however is considered to be depressing, so don’t go over the top with its use.

As the wedding season gets into full swing, fashion houses are already preparing for the demand for black wedding dresses. Store bought dresses are already available and designers are working overtime to keep up with the demand for different designs. Black bridal apparel tends to be of more traditional wedding design, with hand sewn Swarovski crystals and beadwork appearing on boned bodices, and these bodices are being matched with A-line skirts. Silk is a popular fabric to use in these designs.

Remember if you decide to wear a black wedding dress you will put yourself in the front-line to receive critique. Traditional bridal pundits feel that wearing black goes somewhat against the grain. However it is your wedding day and you also have to remember that you get to wear exactly what you want to wear.

A Formal Wedding Dress Is Not All That It Is Cracked Up To Be

With the winter behind us, we find one of the first spring trends to come to the fore is the latest bridal trends. By tradition spring and summer is the wedding season, so designers are getting out ideas thick and fast. But is it truly necessary to have a formal wedding dress? Not according to this season’s bridal pundits!

The formal wedding dress is fast becoming a thing of the past, much like dial-up modems and drug-free labors. This season we have been given a great opportunity to get really funky when organizing our weddings and there are a number of hugely popular trends, one of the most popular is country chic. Forget satin high heeled shoes that you will never wear again and don cowboy boots instead, you will be at the forefront of bridal fashion.

Hiring a barn in a beautiful country setting is far more economical than the ballroom at the Hyatt. You will more than likely be able to accommodate the same amount of guest, if not more at a fraction of the cost. Country styled bridal dresses are great fun as well as very beautiful. Treating your guests to a barbecue and barn dance, while you and your groom go off into the sunset on a hay-ride is incredibly romantic.

Your creativity can be unleashed to it fullest, and three are no limitations to the kind of wedding you are able to have in a country setting. Vineyards are also a fantastic venue to have a wedding. Because a country setting is so exquisite, there is very little need to hire expensive decorations, buy tons of flowers, or even make use of a wedding planner. Asian weddings are also hot and a cherry blossom orchard makes the most divine setting.

Just because you think it might be expected of you to wear a formal wedding dress is no excuse to have to wear one. The latest trends dictate this to be so, and this is the reason you give to your mother to get out of wearing, satin, lace and pearls. Super short wedding minis are in fashion again and these are really chic designs. Dress them up with ankle strap sandals or a pair of Jimmy Choo’s and away you go.
